Abstract

Hello! Labà dienà! Schöne Grüße! Hola! Bon jour! Ciao! Salaam! And Merhaba! Welcome to the December, 2014 issue of Sustainable Multilingualism. Since its founding in 2012, the journal has made an ongoing contribution to the support of multilingualism and multiculturalism, focusing on the phenomenon from the perspectives of various fields, including language learning and acquisition, language policy, language didactics, and the development of plurilingual and pluricultural skills, among other related research areas. In the 5^th issue, we continue this effort, bringing together the viewpoints of a diverse range of international scholars who, in many cases, live and work in multilingual and multlicultural contexts themselves and have first-hand experience of the issues elaborated here.
