Abstract
As laid down in the mission of the journal, each of its issues aims at viewing sustainable multilingualism as a hub with numerous rays streaking into every corner of society where light needs to be shed for more harmonious and congenial coexistence of languages, cultures and communities. Each such attempt brings its own valuable contribution to a better-informed and more enhanced understanding of multilingualism. Nonetheless, the finality to this process will never be achieved given that contemporary societies are increasingly marked by mobility leading to constant change and infinite variation. We might have feared that the overwhelming globalization will swallow our linguistic and cultural uniqueness, but it has so far only fostered different new patterns and models of multilingualism to appear which may be unique in their own way: as in the 19th century lyrics of a famous English Romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelly, “nought may endure but Mutability”.
