Author Guidelines

Darbai ir dienos / Deeds and Days, an interdisciplinary journal of the humanities and social sciences, publishes conceptual and factual interdisciplinary texts, sources, articles by local and foreign authors, reviews of scholarly publications, and reviews of significant events. Each issue has two parts. The first consists of separate articles and offers Lithuanian authors the opportunity to publish new essays of an original or symptomatic kind; while the second (and usually longer) monographic part is devoted to elucidating, from several points of view, a specific problem or phenomenon.

The editors welcome essays, preferably conceptually oriented and conducive to vigorous scholarly discussion, not exceeding 40.000 characters (with spaces) in length, footnotes and bibliography included. Before submitting considerably lengthier essays, please check with the editors. All texts should be submitted in 12 pt. Times New Roman with 1.5 spacing between the lines.

Each essay in Lithuanian must have a summary and a list of keywords in both Lithuanian and English. Essays in English, French, German, or Polish must have a summary and a list of keywords in Lithuanian as well. The beginning of each essay should contain an indication of the author’s name and surname, institutional affiliation, and e-mail address. An electronic version of each article should be mailed to: egidijus.aleksandravicius@vdu.lt, danguole.valance@vdu.lt

Submitted articles are checked for plagiarism using the CrossCheck system.

Longer quotations should be in smaller print beginning a new paragraph, while shorter ones in a running text are to be set off with quotation marks. References to quoted articles or books should be placed in footnotes at the bottom of the page.
