Abstract
Linguistic and cultural diversity are the main specificities of Europe. In our globalised world, these diversities are essential to enhance equity and democracy. For some simplified perspectives, having a lingua franca is presented as a solution. Editors and authors of this journal don’t agree with this artificial solution that leads to power relations and hierarchies between languages and people. Multilingualism is a fact in Europe and beyond. It is also an asset. Its management is one of the big challenges for development and growth.
