The main aim of this article is to evaluate the differences in labour market development in the regions of our country, reveal the development of employment, evaluate the unemployment differences between separate counties based on the various information sources. The article is based on the methods of systematic scientific literature analysis, general and logical analysis, comparison, summation and abstraction as well as the mathematical and statistical processing methods. Regional differences in people’s opportunities to get integrated into the labour market are assessed on the basis of data from the Lithuanian Department of Statics, Lithuanian Labour Exchange and findings of the analysis carried out by the authors. In the comparative analysis conducted on the level of individual territories, priority is given to monitoring dynamics in the distribution of changes in relative and absolute employment and unemployment indexes. In view of the changes observed in the labour market, great attention is paid to the assessment of the employment, unemployment situation and its future developments. Based on territorial groupings, a separate group of problematic regions is identified featuring the highest relative unemployment rate.
