Abstract

Significant growth in e-commerce has greatly increased the need for small parcel delivery. Logistics companies need to be able to efficiently organize their business processes and small parcel delivery in order to meet the changing needs of customers, the growing demand for small parcel delivery and to compete successfully in the market. The object of the research is the organization of the delivery of small parcels. The aim of the research is to analyze the theoretical aspects of organizing the delivery of small parcels. Applied research methods - analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, abstraction method, induction, deduction. Theoretical analysis of small consignment delivery organization has shown that the organization of small parcel delivery includes many activities and operations that must be effectively implemented: from customer service policy, order processing, transportation, warehousing to demand forecasting and return shipment handling. The operations that make up the order-delivery cycle of a small consignment, such as order preparation and delivery, order acceptance and entry, order collection, storage and packaging, transportation, delivery to the customer and unloading, play a very important role in the organization of the delivery of small parcels. The aim of organizing the delivery of small parcels is to deliver small parcels to customers in the most efficient way, securely, in the shortest possible time, best meeting the needs of customers, guaranteeing the success, competitive advantage and profitability of the logistics company. When evaluating the efficiency of organizing the delivery of small parcels, it is important to evaluate the loading time, unloading time, delivery time, and the number of deliveries made during the shift or during the account.
