Lithuanian Diplomatic Service and the Formation of Collective Diplomatic Memory

Abstract

Abstract. On the basis of archival material, memoirs and biographical monographs of Lithuanian envoys and diplomats, the article aims to reveal how, in forming a collective diplomatic memory, the Lithuanian Diplomatic Service, which carried out its mission in the period from 1940 to 1991, sought not to harm the cause of Lithuania’s freedom and to preserve a positive image of the country it represented and its diplomacy.
