Abstract

The article reveals the impact of agriculture on the economy, as well as the statistical-mathematical methods of data analysis and comparison and graphical representation of the impact of agriculture on the Lithuanian economy. In assessing the impact of agriculture on the Lithuanian economy, the following variables were chosen: GDP, exports and employment. The period of 2012-2021 was chosen for the study, which clearly determines the dynamics and trends of agricultural phenomena over time. The article compares the GDP per capita of agriculture with the GDP per capita of Lithuania. It has been established that the number of employees in the Lithuanian agricultural sector is decreasing, which is determined by the implemented technologies that reduce agricultural costs. In 2014 the decline in agricultural exports was caused by the Russian embargo. It has been established that agricultural exports do not have a significant impact on the Lithuanian economy, as they account for a small share of total Lithuanian exports.
