Abstract

The world is moving diligently towards sustainable development. New economic and social models and technologies that are compatible with an ecological mindset must be developed in order to deliver clearly observable, real environmental benefits. Innovations in the field of ecology lead to cost reductions and enhance a company’s image in the eyes of consumers. Many companies do not yet apply green practices in their industrial activities. UAB DOLOOP, a producer of polyethylene terephthalate packaging and a company that follows sustainable production principles, is not one of them and was therefore chosen as the subject of the study. The study aimed not only to provide a theoretical explanation of the concept of sustainable (green) production, to highlight its benefits and to present the ways in which its principles can be implemented, but also to empirically identify the sustainable production practices of the company selected for the analysis by interviewing its employees.
