Abstract

Analyzing Makniūnų community in the context of sustainable development using criteria related to economic and social well-being and environmental issues. Based on the specifics of the projects being evaluated, the community seeks to create added value: criteria reflecting social development related to the activation of the community population capacity building, improving the quality of life. When assessing the effectiveness of projects in the context of sustainable development, it is necessary to take into account the real opportunities m of the community to contribute to sustainable development polies. Based on the sustainable communitymodel, it was found that the sample 2016-2021m., Makniūnų the rural community signed 84% projects promoting social activism, 11% economic sustainability and 5% to promote the environment. Sustainable development combines three essential elements: the economic, social and environmental dimensions, which are interrelated and complementary. Thus the harmonization of these elements forms the basis for sustainable development, which focuses on meeting the needs of humankind in the present period without restricting the ability of future generations to meet future needs.
