Abstract

Water passages or bridges are designed at the intersections of ditches with roads. In order to assess the technical state of the land reclamation structures – culverts in the Kretinga district the research was carried out according to the data provided by Kretinga district municipality, Agriculture Department. There are 1742 culverts  in the district and 1131 reinforced concrete culverts  owned by the state. In this work, the analysis of the state of water culverts  in Kretinga district is performed. The aim of the work is to evaluate the technical state of reinforced concrete culverts in drainage systems, damages, existing deterioration of the elements, to analyze the possibilities of the repair or rehabilitation. The research was conducted in 2021. Due to the high number of passes, they were selected at random. Objectives of the research: 1) To review the scientific and technical literature on the issue and to find out what measures can be taken to improve the technical state of culverts. 2) To determine the condition of drainage ditches in Kretinga district. The assessment of the technical state of culverts and the actual wear and tear revealed that due to environmental factors, mechanical impact and poor  quality concrete, many damages and eruptions have occurred, which makes the technical state poor and necessary for reconstruction.
