SITUATION AND PROBLEMS OF SMALL FARMERS

Abstract

The main goal is to reveal small farms throughout Lithuania and to highlight the main problems related to the details of the article. Various research methods and information sources were used to solve the tasks of the work: analysis of scientific literature, graphic representation, generalization. Analyzing the obtained results and conclusions, we can see a significant change in the agricultural sector for many years. The number of small farmers is declining due to high competition and low capacity, and medium and larger farms are further expanding their holdings. Also, summarizing the problems with the above details, it was noted that the main ones are related to low production volumes, lack of investment, under-cultivated land area and social factors.
