ANALYSIS OF CHANGE IN THE ATTITUDE OF THE LITHUANIAN POPULATION TO HUNTING

Abstract

The topic of hunting is quite relevant in society today. There is a noticeable negative attitude of the general public towards hunting and hunters in general. Articles on the subject of hunting available in the media have received a lot of criticism, often insulting comments. All this forms a common, negative image of hunting and hunters, undermining the importance of hunting and hunters in society. Therefore, as the significance of hunting in society changes, it is important to study society's attitudes towards hunting and the hunter. It is also important to explore how hunters themselves perceive their identity in society, their views on how they are valued in society. This study analyzes the attitude of the Lithuanian population towards hunting and hunting, the attitude of Lithuanian hunters towards hunting, their experience in dealing with society and provocations during hunting, the attitude of Lithuanian farmers towards hunting and hunting, the attitude of farmers to compensation for damage caused by wild animals.
