INTERACTION OF WAREHOUSE LOGISTICS OPERATIONS AND COURIER ACTIVITIES IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN

Abstract

As e-commerce volumes increase within supply chains and customer expectations for fast and reliable delivery continue to grow, the interaction between warehouse logistics operations and courier activities becomes increasingly significant. In the scientific literature, these two components of the supply chain are often analysed separately, with insufficient emphasis on their interdependence.

The aim of the article is to analyse the interaction between warehouse logistics operations and courier activities within the supply chain and to identify the key factors determining the efficiency of logistics processes. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, it is evident that warehouse operations and last-mile logistics form an integrated and interdependent system, where the accuracy, speed, and data quality of warehouse processes directly influence the efficiency of courier activities. The findings indicate that supply chain efficiency is determined not by the optimization of individual components, but by their coordination, with the greatest potential for disruptions concentrated at interaction points such as information flows, time synchronization, and process integration. Furthermore, it was established that the efficiency of logistics processes depends on the synergy of organizational, technological, and process-related factors, which enables the reduction of errors, shortening of order fulfilment time, and improvement of customer satisfaction.
