Abstract

The supply chain of temperature-sensitive goods is critically important part of the logistics business. Maintaining the right temperature is extremely important in the supply of food, medicines, chemicals and many other goods, so that the products reach the consumer in the right quality and safe for consumption. This process is called the cold supply chain process. The main goal of the cold supply chain is to ensure the right temperature from the manufacturer to the end user. As the volume of transportation of temperature-sensitive goods/products increases, challenges arise in esuring the temperature regularity. It is important to ensure the right temperature in different parts of supply chain – in production, storage ant transportation processes. The aim of the article is to reveal the peculiarities of organizing the cold supply chain. After analyzing scientific literature sources it was determined that the internet of things (IoT), wireless sensor network (WSN) technology and radio freaquency identification (RFID) technology are most often used to increase the efficiency of the cold supply chain.
