INVESTIGATION OF ENGINE PERFORMANCE AND EMISSIONS CHARACTERISTICS OF DIESEL FUEL AND TYRE PYROLYSIS OIL BLENDS

The article presents the results of the engine performance and fuel emissions characteristics studies using diesel fuel and its blends with tire pyrolysis oil. Experimental studies were carried out with the diesel engine "ORUVA F1L511". Diesel fuel (DD) and its blends PPA10 and PPA20 with tire pyrolysis oil were used for research. During the test, the engine's fuel consumption per hour (Bd), volumetric air consumption, engine torque, fuel emissions and smoke opacity on the exhaust were measured.
Research has shown that at low load, the lowest fuel consumption per hour (Bd) was obtained when the engine was running on pure diesel. The highest brake specific fuel consumption (bsfc) was obtained when the engine was running on a diesel and tire pyrolysis oil PPA20 blend. At full load, PPA10 and PPA20 fuel blends resulted in 3.6% and 4% lower brake thermal efficiency (ηe), compared to pure diesel in the distribution engine. In the same mode, using a blend of diesel fuel and tire pyrolysis oil PPA20, the engine generated the highest total emissions of nitrogen oxides. The highest carbon monoxide CO emissions at full load was obtained with the PPA20 fuel blend (745 ppm) and the lowest with pure diesel (646 ppm). When the engine is running at full load.
