Abstract

One of the most important quality indicators in beer is turbidity and color. In this research work, the influence of storage and packaging on the quality of beer was investigated. Four containers were chosen for the study: plastic, glass, tinplate and metal. The beers were stored at 20 °C in a dark room for 120 days and turbidity and color were measured every 30 days. The beer in the can and glass containers remained unchanged for the longest period of time, while the beer in the plastic packaging lost its marketable appearance the fastest. The plastic packaging also showed a progressive decrease in turbidity over the storage period and remained within the limits after 120 days (storage period V).
