MULTIMODAL FREIGHT: DEVELOPING ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY LOGISTICS

The article analyzes the possibilities and peculiarities of the company's development of multimodal transportation and the usefulness of gas vehicles in comparison with diesel-powered tractors. The study was conducted in a company with a fleet of 500 trucks, of which 100 will be gas-powered trucks in 2022. It was found that the analyzed company uses innovative, environmentally friendly multimodal transportation using rail transport - loading semi-trailers on railway platforms, gas-powered tractors and Euro6 standard tractors. It has been established that the development of the company's multimodal transportation is included in the company's long-term strategy and its improvement is envisaged. The increase of multimodal transport volumes, based on the data of the monitoring of the implementation of the company's strategy, is taking place in a consistent manner. until 2021 increased by 10%. and further efforts are made to increase this indicator. A study comparing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions was performed using 5 gas-powered Scania R410 and 5 diesel-powered S450 tractors running on the Milan (IT) - Hamburg (DE) - Milan (IT) route, and economic and theoretical ecological calculations were performed. Calculations show that the company saves up to € 124.6 per 1000 km and reduces CO2 emissions by about 30% compared to diesel-powered tractors. We can say that one of the most optimal business development models in the company would be gas-powered trucks and increasing the volume of multimodal transport.
