Focus and Scope

The scope of the International Journal of Psychology: A Biopsychosocial Approach is to study the phenomena of human mental processes and behaviour, based on the viewpoint that both mind and behaviour originate, develop and function due to close interaction of biological and psychological factors with social environment. Such holistic understanding of mental phenomena as well as human behaviour stresses the necessity of integration of different branches of science. Therefore, the priority will be given to the topics, analysing psychological issues within the broader context, including biological, psychological, and social aspects.

International Journal of Psychology: A Biopsychosocial Approach encourages discussions between scientists and academic communities of Lithuania, USA and other countries, strives for collaboration of scientists, representing various scientific fields and branches, in order to promote the development of Psychology, and to expand practical implementation possibilities enabling to find the most appropriate solution of problems faced both by the individual and the community within the rapidly changing social milieu.

The authors are encouraged to submit original empirical as well as theoretical articles, with diverse methodology and methods of statistical analysis, which would expand the knowledge in the field of Psychology, and (or) have importance for practical psychologists.

International Journal of Psychology: A Biopsychosocial Approach has two sections: one is designed for peer reviewed theoretical and empirical research, and the other is for publishing articles of practical psychologists, selected articles of psychology students, book reviews, dissemination of information about ongoing projects, scheduled conferences and other relevant events.  International Journal of Psychology: A Biopsychosocial Approach publishes articles in English twice a year.

Peer Review Process

Articles submitted to the journal should be original contributions and should not be under consideration for any other publication at the same time. Authors submitting articles warrant that the work is not an infringement of any existing copyright and will indemnify the publisher against any breach of such warranty. For ease of dissemination and to ensure proper policing of use, papers and contributions become the legal copyright of the publisher unless otherwise agreed.

Manuscripts go through a blind review procedure. After receiving a manuscript at least two reviewers “ qualified scientists with expertise in relevant scientific areas and branches “ are assigned by the editors. Reviewing process is based on the principles of objectiveness, professionalism and originality. Authors are informed about publishing decision via email.
 
Editorial Board does not take responsibility about precision and fairness of data, text, illustrations, etc. Position of the authors expressed in a publication might not be shared by the editors or publishers. 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. It adheres to the Budapest Open Access Initiative definition of open access, i.e. that users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles.

Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Authorship of all manuscripts should be limited to those who have contributed to the conception, research, interpretation and/or writing of the manuscript. All publications must include a list of references and any financial support given to the research study. Plagiarism or fraudulent data of any kind will result in the immediate disqualification of the manuscript. All manuscripts must not have been published or currently submitted for publication in any other journal. A statement of Institutional Review Board approval must accompany all submitted manuscripts if in a country that recognizes such needed approval.

The authors must ensure that the work submitted is original. All authors agree to participate in our peer review process, and to retract or correct any mistakes that are identified. It is our expectations that a statement be made to the data being real and authentic within the manuscript. Authors may be asked to provide the raw data for editorial review in connection to the submitted manuscript. Authors will be given 30 days to comply with such a request. 

Reviewers are vital in this process, and are responsible to ensure that all judgments to the manuscript are objective. Any potential conflicts of interest with the research, the authors, or the research funders must be reported. Reviewers are also responsible for identifying relevant published work that is not yet cited, and treat submitted manuscripts with complete confidentiality. 

The responsibilities of the editorial board are to have complete responsibility (authority) to accept or reject a manuscript. They must also have no conflict of interest regarding the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript submitted for publication. If errors are identified, they will promote the publication of corrections or retractions. The editorial board will strive to accept a manuscript only when they are reasonably certain of its quality. Finally, the editorial board will preserve the anonymity of reviewers. 

These guiding principles of publishing ethics serve to monitor and safeguard the quality of articles published within the journal. If any article published is later found to be inaccurate, fraudulent, or plagiarized, a retraction will be included in the next edition of the journal. 

This policies and ethical safeguards will maintain the integrity of the academic record supplied by the journal.
