Abstract

The increasing importance of the sustainability of agricultural production and the tightening of environmental requirements encourage the search for new solutions and measures that improve the efficiency of operations. Considerable attention is given to the search and use of new agrotechnical measures. One of such measures may be spring harrowing. This agricultural plant care work can have a significant impact on the growth of winter wheat and the formation of the harvest. The aim of this study was to assess the influence of spring harrowing on the productivity of winter wheat with different fertilization rates. The study was conducted under field experimental conditions in the village of Alionys II, Širvintos district, using different harrowing intensities and nitrogen fertilization rates. During the study, plant biometric data, growth characteristics and yield potential were assessed. The data were processed using statistical analysis methods. The results obtained showed that spring harrowing had an impact on the productivity of winter wheat, but the effect depended more on the fertilization rate. The results of the study may be useful for specialists working in the agricultural sector who seek to optimise and improve winter wheat cultivation technology.
