THE INFLUENCE OF CULTIVAR AND FOLIAR FERTILIZATION ON THE PROCUCTIVITY AND YIELD OF WINTER OILSEED RAPE CROP

Abstract

The aim of the study was to assess the influence of the variety and micronutrient fertilizers on the productivity of winter oilseed rape. The field experiment was conducted in 2024–2025 on the farm of farmer Arūnas Gedaminskas, located in the countryside of Semeniškės village, Žarėnai-Latveliai cadastral area, Šakyna ward, Šiauliai district. Three selected winter rapeseed varieties ('RGT Quiz', 'RGT Cadran' and 'RGT Trezzor') and the effect of micronutrient fertilizers on plant productivity indicators were studied in the two-factor experimental fields. The statistical reliability of the data was assessed by the two-factor analysis of variance (ANOVA) method using the SELEKCIJA software package. During the study, it was determined that the winter rapeseed variety and micronutrient spraying through the leaves had a positive significant effect on the elements of plant productivity. The variety 'RGT Cadran' stood out with the significantly highest number of branches (8.53 pcs.) and pods (331.3 pcs.). On the contrary, the significantly lowest productivity element indicators were determined on the 'RGT Trezzor' variety plants. Compared with the control, the use of micronutrient fertilizers resulted in an average of 10.1 pct. higher number of branches and 10.6 pct. higher number of pods per plant. After calculations from productivity elements, the significantly highest rapeseed yield was determined in the 'RGT Cadran' variety. When analyzing the results obtained, no significant influence of micronutrient spraying on plant yield was determined.
