CONCEPTUAL APPLICATION OF LOGISTICS 5.0 TECHNOLOGIES TO PROMOTE EMPLOYEE WELL-BEING AND BUSINESS RESILIENCE: THE CASE OF UAB “RABEN LIETUVA”

Abstract

This article examines the potential for applying the Logistics 5.0 concept in Lithuanian logistics companies, emphasizing the transition from technological efficiency (Logistics 4.0) to a people-oriented, sustainable, and resilient business model, addressing issues related to employee physical strain and supply chain vulnerability. The aim of the study is to theoretically substantiate the potential for integrating advanced technological solutions, such as collaborative robots (hereinafter “cobots”) and Digital Twins, into the operations of UAB “Raben Lietuva.” The study employs methods of scientific literature analysis and theoretical case modeling. The analysis revealed a high level of sustainability maturity, but increasing cargo flows require new solutions to ensure employee ergonomics and operational resilience. The research results and conceptual modeling show that the implementation of cobots in cargo sorting processes would significantly reduce the physical strain on employees by creating safe hybrid workplaces, while the application of digital twins to cargo terminal management would enable strategic crisis simulation and real-time flow optimization. Based on the results obtained, it is concluded that the synergy of these technologies is a prerequisite for balancing long-term organizational resilience with employee well-being, enabling the company to become an innovative leader in Logistics 5.0.
