Abstract

Transportation organization is becoming increasingly relevant for many logistics companies, as freight transportation from the manufacturer to the consumer, organized according to the principles of green logistics, helps the company achieve better results in the long term. When improving freight transport, it is also important to take into account changing external factors that affect the success of a company, and one of the most important macro-environmental factors is increasing sustainability requirements. In order to improve transport processes and increase sustainability, it is necessary to implement the concept of green logistics in the company’s activities. The aim of this scientific article is to identify the most suitable green logistics principles for improving the transport organization process by applying the scientific literature analysis method. After conducting the study, several green logistics principles were identified for improving the organization of transportation: implementation of information systems- facilitates route planning, reduce transportation costs; information technology- helps to manage vehicles more efficiently, monitor them in real time, and facilitates communication between company departments; purchase of more environmentally friendly vehicles- helps to meet environmentally requirements; and employee training- helps to increase the company’s profitability in the long term.
