AUTOMATION SOLUTIONS USED IN TODAY’S WAREHOUSES

Warehouse automation has become a key element in modern logistics as companies seek to increase operational efficiency and meet growing e-commerce demand. High labor dependency, constrained storage capacity, and order fulfillment errors are some of the problems that traditional warehouse operations frequently face. This article looks at the automation solutions that are currently in use in warehouses and assesses how they affect operational performance. The study is based on a systematic review of recent scientific literature and industry reports, combined with analysis of practical applications of automation technologies in logistics operations. The findings show that technologies such as Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), and automated order-picking systems significantly improve warehouse productivity, storage density, and order accuracy while reducing manual labour and operational errors. At the same time, the study also identifies several obstacles to automation adoption, such as the need for workforce adaptation, complicated system integration, and high implementation costs. The findings show that strategic planning and coordination between organizational procedures and technology capabilities are necessary for successful warehouse automation. Overall, automation is making warehouses more effective, adaptable, and data-driven logistics settings.
