THEORETICAL EVALUATION OF DIGITALIZATION SOLUTIONS TO INCREASE THE EFFICIENCY AND SUSTAINABILITY OF MANUFACTURING COMPANY OPERATIONS
Keywords:
digitalization solutions, manufacturing company, sustainability, efficiencyAbstract
The article presents a theoretical analysis of digitalization solutions for increasing the efficiency and sustainability of manufacturing company operations, presenting the concept and significance of digitalization in the manufacturing sector, reviewing the industrial digitalization concept ,,Industry 4.0”, digitalization technologies applied in manufacturing (IoT, MES, ERP, AI, etc.), the stages of implementing digitalization processes in manufacturing companies, and an overview of the impact of digitalization on the sustainability of manufacturing companies operations. After reviewing, systematizing, and summarizing the scientific literature, it was determined that the meaning of digitalization in the manufacturing sector is the implementation of digital technologies (software, automation, data analytics, artificial intelligence) in manufacturing processes in order to increase efficiency, quality, and competitiveness. This process is often associated with the concept of Industry 4.0. The main significance of digitalization in manufacturing: higher production efficiency, better product quality, lower production costs, faster decision-making, more flexible production, better supply chain management. Digitalization improves efficiency and sustainability through automation, data analysis and process optimization, which reduces costs and improves the quality of resources. These three concepts are closely related: digital technologies (digitization) are a tool for achieving greater efficiency, which in turn contributes to sustainable development through more efficient use of resources and the creation of innovative business models: digitalization as a means of increasing efficiency, efficiency as a path to sustainable development, interconnections and synergies.
