LITHUANIAN FARMERS MOTIVES TO BECOME A MEMBER OF AGRICULTURE COOPERATIVES

Abstract

Agriculture cooperation gives an opportunity to farmers to endure difficulties and to adapt  changes in agroculture sector, allows to achieve finacial stability. But cooperation still strugling to develop. The purpose of this article is not only to examine the essential factors of agriculture cooperation, but also to identify main motives, whitch encourage farmers to cooperate. A study was conducted, a questionnaire survey showed, that main motive to farmers to join agriculture cooperatives became an improvement the financial situacion. However, farmers after joining cooperative felt and others benefits. One of them – psichological safety, which could become motivation aspect for farmers which are not members of cooperatives. The reaserch was carried out using the analysis and synthesis of sientific literature, analysis of the main farmers reaserch data- questionnaire results. A questionnaire survey was contucted among farmers belonging to agriculture cooperatives, applied content analysis method.
