The fruit and vegetable sector in agriculture is characterized by specific operating conditions, such as the seasonality of production, a short marketing period, price volatility, and high sensitivity to climatic conditions. Therefore, it is particularly important for organizations operating in this sector to make well-grounded strategic decisions and efficiently organize production and distribution processes. Poland is one of the largest producers of fruit and vegetables in the European Union, and producer organizations are becoming increasingly important in this sector, helping farms strengthen their competitiveness and adapt to changing market conditions. The aim of this study is to analyse the characteristics of the fruit and vegetable sector in Poland and to evaluate the role of producer organizations in strengthening the sector’s competitiveness. The research results show that the fruit and vegetable sector plays a significant role in the structure of Polish agriculture and creates high added value; however, it faces challenges related to farm fragmentation, market fluctuations, climate change, and increasing quality requirements. The findings reveal that producer organizations strengthen farmers’ bargaining power, help concentrate supply, improve the organization of product marketing, and create more favourable conditions for the implementation of innovations
