TRANSPORTATION TIME PLANNING IN LOGISTICS PROCESS MANAGEMENT: OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPROVEMENT

Abstract

This article analyzes transportation time planning in the logistics of a manufacturing company's vehicles, emphasizing its impact on supply chain continuity, production pace, and delivery deadlines. A review of the scientific literature identifies the main problems in transport process management: inefficient routes, driver shortages, loading delays, infrastructure limitations, and supply chain disruptions, and shows how these factors increase transport time and logistical uncertainty. The research employs a systematic and comparative literature review to connect conventional transport management components with contemporary digital technologies, such as route optimization, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, telematics, and transport management systems. The results of the study show that improving transport time planning should involve not only modifying operational processes, but also using digital solutions and synchronizing loading and departure schedules. The research indicates that the integration of these methodologies establishes conditions that mitigate the risk of delays, enhance truck utilization, and improve the overall efficiency of logistics process management in manufacturing firms.
