THE ROLE AND IMPROVEMENT OF TRANSPORT PROCESS MANAGEMENT IN LOGISTICS COMPANIES

Abstract

Transport process management plays a crucial role in logistics activities, as it ensures the efficient coordination of material and information flows within the supply chain. In the context of increasing competition, rising logistics costs, and growing customer expectations, the need to improve transport process management is becoming increasingly important. The aim of this study is to analyse the importance of transport process management in logistics companies. To achieve this aim, two research objectives were formulated: to examine the trends in the application of transport process management tools and to determine the benefits provided by these tools. The study is based on a systematic analysis of scientific literature, which highlights the growing role of information technologies, transport management systems, and planning tools in transport process management. The findings indicate that the application of these tools contributes to improved transport planning, enhanced coordination of information among process participants, and more effective control of transport operations. Furthermore, the integration of transport process management tools is identified as a key factor in improving operational efficiency and strengthening the competitiveness of logistics companies.
