Abstract

The article presents results of research on the influence of fuel injection system malfunctions on engine fuel emissions. During the test, such system malfunctions as a malfunctioning Lambda sensor, a leak in the injection system and a removed vacuum hose in the same injection system were simulated. The test was performed at various speeds - 840, 2000 and 3200 n/min-1 without load. CO, CH and NOx concentrations were measured. The results showed that even such minor damage to the system can negatively affect the combustion process, resulting in an increase in unwanted fuels. Disconnecting the vacuum hose of the injection system had the greatest influence on the increase in emissions. As a result, the concentration of CO increased by 12 times when increasing the speed.
