Abstract

The research aims to evaluate the energy efficiency of using an air-to-water heat pump in combination with photo-voltaic solar power plants. During the investigation, three residential houses are examined, equipped with solar power plantss and air-water heat pumps. Polysun, a simulation program for renewable energy systems, was used to achieve the goal. It was established that by optimizing the heat pump controller and additionally using a 4 kWh battery for short-term storage of electricity in different investigated objects, it is possible to increase the share of independent electricity consumption up to 2 times on average.
