Due to strict technical regulations and increasing construction and heating costs, builders are looking for innovative, economical and optimal foundation solutions that meet specific requirements such as stability, reliability, ease of installation and speed, as well as low cost and heat loss. In addition, from 2020, it is required that the energy class of newly constructed buildings is not lower than A++. Therefore, there is a lot of discussion about the choice of foundations during individual constructions, especially a lot of attention is paid to drilled and flat foundations, the latter are becoming more and more popular in the construction of passive houses. This article discusses various factors that influence foundation selection, such as soil type, building loads, and environmental conditions. It also discusses the most common types of foundations, such as bored pile foundations, flat foundations, and the advantages and disadvantages of each. The pros and cons of both foundation types will be presented to help you choose the right foundation for your project. Using the necessary literature and research, foundation types are selected for an individual house and their human resources and financial indicators are evaluated.
