QUALITY RESEARCH OF THE GRAVEL ROAD

Abstract

The aim of the thesis is to make a research of the gravel road by using tools in smartphone such as (GPS, accelerometer, magnetometer) and also analyze other scientific thesis that are relatable with roads quality determination. The results show that smartphone attachement point changing has an affect for data accuracy. It shows that difference between mounting smartphone in the back of a car and in the front is about 2 %. It was also found that the speed of a car has affect for the data accuracy. The resulsts also shows that by using smarptone and internetional rougness index (IRI)  it is possible to determine which section of the gravel road is in bad condition and needs grading.
