Abstract

The aim of the study is to compare the assessment models that can be applied to the assessment of separate green spaces in urbanized areas. Models with similar evaluation criteria were selected. According to the selected evaluation models, one of the separate green areas was evaluated – it is Eibariškiai Park in Radviliškis town. It is one of the main, well-organized and well-visited city parks, covering an area of 29.26 hectares. During the research, comparing different evaluation results obtained and using selected evaluation methodologies, it was found that the evaluation model is more accurate when the criteria are more detailed and the evaluation aspects are explained in detail in the models, which prevent the interpretations of the evaluator. An evaluation of the suitability of the selected models is carried out by analyzing separate green spaces. It was found that both selected evaluation models are suitable for the evaluation of separate green spaces. The 1st evaluation model is more detailed and suitable for the evaluation of larger areas, while the 2nd evaluation model is more general, but includes all necessary and important evaluation directions. It is suggested that when evaluating separate green spaces, it is appropriate to form a new evaluation model that would be more detailed and define the evaluation criteria in more detail, thus the evaluation would be more complete and accurate.
