Abstract

The widely used linear economy has laid the foundation for businesses to efficiently extract, produce and distribute resources, but this model is becoming inflexible as the world's population grows and production rates increase. This article develops the concept of the circular economy, which becomes an alternative to the existing linear economy and adds new functions such as sustainable resource extraction, recycling, reuse. The purpose of this article is to review the possible problem directions in the poultry sector in order to apply the principles of the circular economy to solve them. Based on the analysis of the scientific literature, the main principles of the circular economy model, which are most effectively applied in the poultry sector, are formed. The principles of this model focus on the appropriate use of resources, competitive advantage and corporate social and environmental responsibility. The result of the analysis is solutions for the poultry sector by integrating the principles of the circular economy in the stages of resource extraction, production, distribution, reuse and processing. The selected solutions indicate directions that promote the benefits of the integration of the circular economy for businesses.
