APPLICATION OF SMART TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS IN LOGISTICS ENTERPRISES

Abstract

Logistics companies face a great challenge - to operate as efficiently as possible. Logistics processes must always be optimally coordinated with each other. If there is a problem at one point, it affects the entire supply chain along with the results. The logistics opportunities of the future are limitless due to the continuous development of smart technologies. Smart sensors, connected systems in one network, data collected and processed in real time, and continuous traceability of goods and processes can help ensure efficient logistics processes. The aim of this study is to analyze smart technology solutions applied in the field of logistics. A systematic literature review was used to identify state-of-the-art digitization and automation technologies in the logistics chain. The smart technologies identified in the literature review were the Internet of Things, RFID technology, intelligent transport systems, and Blockchain. The study helped to reveal the benefits of smart technologies for all areas of logistics companies, such as freight forwarding, supply chain management, international shipments, shipment tracking, and so on.
