Abstract

Beetles (Coleoptera) - a class of insects (Insecta). Currently, it is the most abundant order, discovered in the entire animal kingdom (Šablevičius, 2011). The species found on our planet, accounts for about 25% of all known species in the animal kingdom. Here is no exception for Lithuania, where the estimated number of living beetles species is about 3,500.

The survey was conducted from 2020 August, to 2020 November, and from 2021 March. to 2021 August, in the firebreaks of Jurbarkas regional district, the survey was covered an area of 340 km2. A total of 63 barrels were installed in this research. The scientific article discusses the biodiversity of beetles order, in the firebreaks.

It was determined what the lower diversity of beetles species was found in the mineralized breaks, than in fuel breaks. The highest diversity of species was found in the habitats of normal humidity, also that the highest beetles activity was in summer (June) and the lowest in spring (March).
