Abstract

The research was done in Veliuona forest district of Jurbarkas regional division State Forest Enterprise. The seed scattering study was conducted in 2018 in the black alder falling area. For the assessment of black alder seedlings and self-made seedlings, 31 sapling and seeding plot was selected in 2011-2018 years in Veliuona forest district, where the possibilities of black alder restoration by moving away from the tree wall and the influence of habitat on the growth of the black alder were assessed. The research was carried out using selective methods on these plots. The study determined the viability, species, origin, diameter, height of model trees and average annual height gain of trees on the observation plots.

The analysis of the collected data showed that the beginning of the black alder seeds cast in Veliuona forest district was 9th October 2021 and the end of the seeds cast on 5th February 2022. The maximum average density of black alder of seminal origin has been established at 45 m from the stand wall. The maximum black alder mean height and average diameter are set at 25 m from the tree wall. The maximum mean density of black alder set in Ud habitats. Maximum average heights of black alder seminal and cultural origin in Lf habitats have been established, the largest average diameters have been found in Ud habitats. Summarizing the data of the study, it can be said that the black alder reproduction is sufficiently even in cuttings up to 80 meters wide.
