Abstract

The paper investigated the evaluation methods of a public investment project, which are applied taking into account the goals and expected results of the public investment project. It was found that the concept of a public investment project and its difference from other non-public projects are important in choosing the method of evaluation of a public investment project. The evaluation of a public investment project using multi-criteria evaluation methods makes it possible to combine other applicable methods as a method of cost-benefit analysis and to obtain a comprehensive evaluation of a public investment project. The cost-benefit analysis method combines the financial, economic, and risk analysis of a public investment project, and the multi-criteria method, using an analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and allows to combined social indicators into a common evaluation model. Such a comprehensive assessment of a public investment project is significant from a practical and scientific point of view.
